Ceramic Brake Pads. Ceramic brake pads were developed after semi-metallic pads, in order to reduce noise, heat, and brake dust. These brake pads tend to be cleaner and quieter than both organic and semi metallic brake pads. They are also easier on the brake rotors and are long lasting. However, they are quite expensive and are not to be used on performance cars.
